The sire of this dog is International Champion Barkley’s SS Pajero Jr. The #1 ranked shetland sheepdog in the year 2002, member of Century Club. Hence, the lovely profile with masculine depth of jaw. His AKC registered name is Jute’s Stretch the Imagination; call name is Theo.

  • Stock photo: This is a photo of my beloved dog, Theo, a shetland sheepdog. I know there are numerous dog photos on this site, but I felt this captured so well the intelligence, alertness and gentleness characteristic of the sheltie breed. Theo was a show prospect that, unfortunately for the wonderful breeder but luckily for me, went oversize and was in need of a good home. Theo has brought countless and immeasurable joy to my life! Goofy dog wouldn’t sign a model release though. ;-) Please note, slightly soft focus is intentional. I think it aids in retaining the gentle feel, while sharper focus on eyes emphasizes the intelligence and alertness. For every sale of this photo, $5 will be donated to an animal welfare orgainization. I know it isn’t much, but I try to do what I can for less fortunate animals.

  • Stock photo: On May 4, 2007, the small rural southwest Kansas town of Greensburg was struck by an extremely destructive EF5 tornado. This is a photo of an entrance to the high school. Notice that despite all of the surrounding damage, the glass doors remain untouched and sparkling clean. Tornados never cease to terrify yet amaze me.

  • Stock photo: I have no doubt that most of you have heard about the EF5 tornado that virtually obliterated the small rural southwest Kansas town of Greensburg off the face of the earth. I live in a similar sized town approximately 60 miles away. This Greensburg school bus was spared and remains undamaged simply because it was out of town for a State forensics meet Friday night when the devastating tornado hit. The following Friday it was used to transport Greensburg students to my town for a track meet. Of all the rotten luck, the bus broke down while here. This is a photo of it awaiting repairs. The Greensburg youth, being real little troopers, took it in stride and simply caught a ride on the bus from Haviland, KS. Additionally, it was nice to learn that a major uniform supplier in KS gave them new top of the line athletic wear and a KS man went around to various stores to get them all new track shoes. I can’t begin to explain the amount of damage sustained by this quaint little town. Pictures in the media do not do the damage justice. I have heard this from several people who have been there, including my son, who despite the Highway 54 closure and tight security, was permitted to go through on a return trip from his State tennis meet. I realize it could so easily have been my little town that was struck. I am trying to do whatever I can to assist. As such, all proceeds from the sale of this photo will directly go to benefit the community of Greensburg, KS. If you wish not to purchase this photo but would like to help, please feel free to contact me privately. Of course the Red Cross and Salvation Army are accepting donations. However, I am also trying to collect funds for the 4-H families and the animals devastated by the storm. I can also tell you how to assist in these areas. If nothing else, please keep Greensburg in your prayers.

  • Stock photo: I tend to avoid busy backgrounds but wanted to capture this dandelion the way it stood out to me amongst the everyday existence. DOF to make the dandelion stand out while still maintaining the context using a very blurred background. One of my shelties just happened to start up the steps as I snapped this shot. Guess the best I can describe it is as a visual commentary on the life of a simple little dandelion in my backyard just begging to be noticed.
